Invasion India: The visiting KJ Somaiya College of Engineering students were hard at work in preparing their Baja vehicle for the strict safety inspection, on the opening day of the 2014 Sasol Baja SAE held at Gerotek near Tshwane on Friday, 24 October. They will be hoping to do even better than their Indian counterparts, Pune University, who won last year’s 4-hour endurance race and finished third overall. 4 Hours of Mud, Sweat and Gears: Tshwane University of Technology’s carefully built vehicle was the first to cross the finish line in the 2014 Sasol Baja SAE 4-hour endurance race held at Gerotek, Tshwane on Saturday, 25 October 2014. But the students from Tshwane were unable to successfully defend their overall title as Central University of Technology finished with the most points after the two-day event that included, braking tests, hill climbs and weight pulling competitions.
